Travel Impact- Sidewalk Surveying and Repairs
The Town of Buena Vista Public Works Department, as part of its responsibility to ensure public health and safety, is notifying the public that there will be sidewalk surveying and repair work throughout Town, including East Main Street.
The Town of Buena Vista Streets Department is responsible for overseeing the project, and reports that the work is expected to start Monday, May 4, 2026, and continue through Thursday, May 7, 2026, weather dependent.
Every effort will be made to ensure clear communication and safe pedestrian movement throughout the duration of this project. A traffic control plan will be implemented with temporary sidewalk closures, detours, and localized impacts to pedestrian traffic near active work areas. This work will focus on identifying and correcting trip hazards by grinding down uneven sidewalk sections.
These operations are part of the Town’s ongoing efforts to improve pedestrian safety and accessibility. Grinding operations may produce noise and minor dust. Pedestrians are encouraged to use caution, follow posted signage, and avoid active work areas while crews are present.
