S Gunnison

When it rains or snows and melts, there is an issue with water gathering in front of 807 S Gunnison. This has been an issue since we purchased the property in 1988. After my husband fell on the ice in 1990, while holding our infant daughter, we complained to the city, and the city raised the sidewalk in front of the house. This helped alleviate a lot of water/ice backup onto the sidewalk, however where we park our vehicles has continued to be a problem, and the standing water splashes onto the sidewalk causing a hazard, not only for us, but for the many people who use the sidewalk. We have had info that the problem would be solved, however nothing has been done. After a heavy snow, and cold days when it does not melt and drain down the street, we have had to go out and break up ice, and create channels to get the water flowing, to alleviate the dangerouse ice situation that causes a hazard to get to our vehicles. We have had times over the years, where the water freezes and we have been unable to break the tires free from the ice, causing us to be late to work. After 30+ years of the city knowing this is an issue, it would be nice to finally get a solution, since we aren't getting any younger, and it will only be more devastating if we were to fall on the ice that builds up.
