Background

Launched in November 2021, my-BV.com is the result of the desire to match the Town's community engagement efforts with the wide array of tools that the 21st century has made available to us. We know most of our outreach efforts in the past have relied heavily on printed notices or press releases that offer up an in-person meeting as the primary way of learning more or providing input on Town projects, topics, and issues. Now, however, my-BV.com will be another tool in our toolbox that will allow you to keep abreast of what is going on, provide thoughts and ideas, ask questions, and participate in your local government from anywhere!

While you can peruse all the project pages and this site without registering for an account, we do ask that you create an account (takes 30 seconds!) in order to participate on the site through the many engagement tools we're using.

We want my-BV.com to be a safe and productive place for your to learn about what's going on around Town, and also to provide your ideas, concerns, questions, and feedback. Social media is great for blasting a message out there, but not great for empowering productive conversations on specific issues or projects.

By asking you to register we not only encourage accountability and a safe place in the forums and engagement tools, we're also better able to capture your feedback in a way that the Trustees and Staff can use to make decisions and then communicate back to you.

Great question and thought - definitely one that is in active consideration and will continue to be as the County's plans and ultimate schedule of use for that facility become more clear.

Hello Town of BV. Would it be possible to dedicate an area for housing discussion?

  • Share Hello Town. Is there a plan for the COVID funds? Salida used this funding to pilot a housing incentive program - open doors. Not sure if that is right for BV, but it was great to see some money going towards housing. Would the town consider allocating some of the money towards La Vista to deed restrict a couple units? It doesn't need to be La Vista, but that is the only multi-family I am aware of. Some members of the community are, for lack of a better word, outraged at the pricing of the new apartments. And while it is a private project, many people in town do believe the town should intervene. I think many folks would convert the apartments to short term rentals with all the backlash they are facing. It would seem like using some ARF funds towards something like this would support the community's vision. Can this information be relayed to the board of trustees at the next meeting? Respectfully, I do not believe I should have to go to public comment to be heard. I think that is the purpose of this awesome website! On that note - do the board members read My-BV.com? I appreciate staff always responding, but I think this site may benefit from some interaction with elected leaders. Just a thought... on Facebook Share Hello Town. Hello!

The Trustees have allocated approximately 40% ($314,000) of the ARPA funds to support the water treatment plant expansion project. The balance of the ARPA funds are not allocated at the moment, but the most consistent conversation about how to use those funds has been about supporting Phase I of the Carbonate Street housing & childcare project.

I do believe Trustees use my-BV website, but having them all participate as elected officials may get cross-wise with open meeting laws - I'll check into this with our legal counsel.

As always, thanks for your thoughts.

Thanks for the question! Given the fact that this is a municipal website we would not be able to allow a campaign committee access to utilize it for the purposes of campaigning. That being said, if you would like more information please reach out to chaffeehousingsolutions@gmail.com and someone will get back to you I'm sure.

    Thank you!

Good morning! The survey has concluded. The CU Denver students conducting the project for Town gave a presentation at the May 10th Board of Trustees' work session. I believe they are working to create the final report now, which will be shared on the related project page on my-BV as well as on the Town and BV Rec websites.

    Thank you!

Hello Judy.  The master planning process for the Rodeo Grounds and Chicago Ranch will in essence create a "living plan" to help guide Town with future improvements in that region.  The Sunset Vista Park funds will be used for the Sunset Vista Park developments.    Please reach out if you have any additional questions.  We appreciate your participation.

Amy asked over 2 years ago

Response from Chief Morgan: No, the police do not set quotas. Traffic enforcement is strictly about public safety. We get complaints in various manners...from emails to phone calls. When citizens complain about a certain area, it is because they are concerned about safety in that area due to things like excessive speed. As such, we conduct targeted enforcement in those areas to address safety concerns. We do not always see a safety issue consistent with the complaint, but often, we do, and in such instances, we take enforcement action as appropriate. As to marked increases in the future...that is dependent on driver behavior. The intent of issuing a penalty assessment for a traffic violation is to modify behavior. If driver's modify their behavior and obey the speed limits, stop signs, etc., then there is not a need to increase enforcement.

Thanks for the question Amy! I've checked in with a couple of other staff members here and the proposed capital improvements for the cemetery are focused on a new fence and signage, revegetation and weed control, irrigation, and a few other aesthetic improvements.
