The Buena Vista Public Works and Streets Departments, as part of their responsibility to ensure public health and safety, is notifying the public that portions of County Road 319/Aviation Road to be closed and traffic impacts to South Pleasant Avenue have been delayed. Originally slated to start Monday, June 24, 2024, beginning at approximately 8:00 AM and lasting until end of day, Friday, June 28th, 2024, milling is tentatively rescheduled to begin Thursday, June 27th, 2024 on County Road 319/Aviation Road. Milling and paving on South Pleasant Avenue may need to be rescheduled for after the Independence Day holiday.

Traffic Impacts – County Road 319/Aviation Road, South Pleasant Avenue
The Buena Vista Public Works and Streets Departments, as part of their responsibility to ensure public health and safety, is notifying the public that portions of County Road 319/Aviation Road will be closed and traffic impacts to South Pleasant Avenue starting Monday June 24, 2024, beginning at approximately 8:00 AM and lasting until end of day, Friday, June 28th, 2024 as contractors work to mill asphalt in preparation for repaving. There will be a detour in place for County Road 319/Aviation Road and intermittent delays, single lane traffic on South Pleasant Avenue during this activity.
The detour will route drivers that need to access County Road 319/Aviation Road using McCombs Street to McCormick Street to Gregg Drive. Businesses with access via Gregg Circle will continue to do so. The Streets Department is responsible for supervising the project and reporting that the milling could take approximately two full days to complete.
Every effort will be made to minimize congestion and confusion created by this project. The Streets
Department will be on-site to oversee the project and manage traffic control. The focus of this project is to ensure safe driving conditions while completing the 2024 repaving project. For more information on the project, please visit my-bv.com.

The Town of Buena Vista Public Works has scheduled chip-seal to be installed on the following streets;
Windwalker Road
Dreamcatcher Road
Shaman Way
Connie Drive
South Sangre De Cristo Ave
Merrill Lane
Railroad ROW (between Main Street and East Arkansas)
Anticipated installation start date is June 13th , 2024
