Title: River Park Bathhouse Deck Replacement
Project Purpose The original wood decking at the River Park Bathhouse, installed over 30 years ago, had reached the end of its useful life. This project aimed to revitalize the area by replacing the aging materials with a more durable and low-maintenance alternative.
Project Scope Town staff explored a variety of replacement options and materials, prioritizing safety, accessibility, and long-term durability. The project was scheduled for winter and spring—when the bathhouse is closed—to minimize disruption to park visitors.
Project Objective To improve accessibility and safety for all users by replacing the old deck and railings with a new, easy-to-navigate system that includes ramps and updated handrails.
Project Deliverables
Constructed a new concrete deck to replace the old wood structure
Replaced aging wooden railings with more durable metal ones
Installed two ADA-compliant ramps—one on each side of the building—for improved accessibility
Project Stakeholders
Town of Buena Vista
BV Parks Department
BV Recreation Department
Propernick Concrete (Contractor)
Timeline Project work occurred from March 2025 to April 2025
Budget The project was budgeted at $60,000, with approximately $40,000 spent to date.
