US24, Baylor and DePaul Intersection Improvement
Project title: 2024 US24, Baylor and DePaul Intersection Improvement
Project purpose or justification:
"Recent studies have shown a growing amount of traffic on US24, especially along Baylor Drive where there is a largely residential area," said Julie Constan, CDOT Regional Transportation Director. Project scope:
Three-way signal at US24, DePaul Avenue and Baylor Drive
Micro-surfacing (laying new asphalt over the existing pavement) at the approaches of the intersection in each direction
New striping and markings including turn lanes and multi-modal features for pedestrians and cyclists
Replacement of old sidewalks with new sidewalks, ramps and other features compliant with ADA (American with Disabilities Act) on the northwest and northeast corners of US24 and Baylor Drive
Enhanced pedestrian safety at crosswalks
